In the Introduction we saw how many systems of diet have been shown to help lipid levels. Add all these ideas together, add some additional health benefits, and you have the "Plus" diet.
In the "Plus" diet we take first try to understand how each works. What are the principles of a cholesterol lowering diet? Can such a diet be designed to be both effective and tolerable in the long run? Will the patient stay on the diet? What other diseases can be attacked by the diet?
People should know why they are eating certain foods. If they understand what that food is going to do for them then they are more likely to include that in their diet.
In the "All About Cholesterol" chapter we learn how each element can help the lipid profile.

OBJECTIVES
